WIDOPAN-Universal Primer

WIDOPAN-Universal Primer is used for all subsequent seals made of WIDOPAN-FD and WIDOPUR 1K. Furthermore, this primer is also used before applying WIDOPERL. Then, the application is done “wet in wet” (for further details, please refer to our product information for WIDOPERL).

WIDOPAN-Universal Primer hardens with exposure to air, and is one-component, making it particularly economical to process. The addition of a crosslinking agent ensures rapid curing even at low temperatures. The polyurethane-based primer can be used on almost any surface and provides adequate protection against alkalinity.

Tests should generally be made on curing and adhesion to the substrate.

Basis
Polyurethane pre-polymer elastomer + IPDA Cross linking agent, contains solvents

Consumption
300 - 500 g / m² depending on the porosity of the substrate

Curing time
A second layer/waterproofing can be applied after approx. 60 minutes (depending on the temperature).

Packaging Unit
5,00 kg, 10,00 kg and 20,00 kg

Minimum working temperature
-5°C (with cross linking agent)

Temperature resistance
-20°C to +80°C (after curing)

Cleaning in fresh condition
WIDOPAN-Cleaner

Storage
If the container is kept closed and the storage temperature constantly held below + 25°C, the product may be used for up to 6 months.

All above mentioned specifications refer to a working temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 50%

Surface preparation

The surface to be primed must be dry, dust free, free of grease and oil,  and have good adhesive and load bearing properties. Loose and hollow laying tiles must be removed. Before applying the primer, metal surfaces must be prepared by sanding or blast cleaning.

The primer should be applied as a sealed film with blanket coverage and in principle should be sprinkled with quartz sand of grain size 0.3 – 0.8 mm (dosage: approx. 200-300g/m²)

If this is not achieved with one application, a second coat may be applied.
